MCAT Chem/Phys (C/P)
General chemistry, physics, biochemistry and organic chemistry, asked about living systems. Most questions sit on experiments and data, so reading figures quickly matters as much as recalling equations.

How the section is built
Ten passages with 4–7 questions each, plus 15 standalone questions. Passages are usually experiments: a setup, a table or graph, and questions that ask you to interpret or extend it.
What it tests
- Apply a formula to an unfamiliar biological setup
- Read tables and graphs for trends and outliers
- Reason about experimental design and controls
- Estimate with rounded numbers instead of long arithmetic
How to practice it
- Skim the passage for the question it is trying to answer, then go straight to the questions
- Do the math with rounded values; the answer choices are usually far apart
- Answer every standalone question you know first if time gets tight
- Review missed questions by type: content gap, figure misread, or arithmetic
