MCAT Bio/Biochem (B/B)
Mostly biology, with a large share of biochemistry. Passages are research summaries, so the section rewards knowing core pathways well enough to reason about an experiment you have never seen.
Practice B/B free 59 questions · 95 min

How the section is built
Ten passages with 4–7 questions each, plus 15 standalone questions. Expect experiment descriptions with figures: knockouts, inhibitors, gels and dose-response curves.
What it tests
- Predict the effect of a mutation or inhibitor on a pathway
- Interpret gels, blots and enzyme kinetics plots
- Connect organ-system physiology to molecular mechanisms
- Spot the variable an experiment actually tests
How to practice it
- Know the high-yield pathways (glycolysis, TCA, ETC, signaling) cold
- Translate each figure into one sentence before reading the questions
- Ask what the control group is for every experiment
- Track recurring misses by system to plan content review
